Is there any chance for Taranu to win? If Kim Eunkuk loses and he wins, hows SOS looking like? Im sorry but I can see only those wall list results that are left from 9 round, so I cant see SOS.
probably not
After round 9, taranu is 5 points behind on SOS. If Kim Eunkuk loses, and Taranu wins, that will increase to 6 (because Eunkuk played Taranu), so it is very unlikely that that gap could be closed.
If Catalin wins, he has a reasonably good shot at second place, especially if Eunkuk wins (because otherwise, Oh Chimin would also be a contender for second).
Taranu has made a great return, hasn't he?
I thought Taranu was a gonner when he got beaten by a surprise winner. But he has proven my presumption was wrong. Good on you Catalin!!

People are allowed to change their participation in the main tournament (drop out, or drop in again), until about 20.00 tonight. We cannot pair until after that has been processed. It will be available later tonight or tomorrow morning.
somewhat predictable
The top pairings are somewhat predictable, BTW.
Kim Eunkuk against Oh Chimin is obviously board 1, Oh Chimin is the only player in the top that Kim Eunkuk hasn't played yet.
Kim Joon Sang and Hwang In-seong have already played eachother, so one of them will play Taranu on board 2. The other will be paired down against on of the top Europeans in the group with 40 MMS.
The 40 MMS group is then odd, and one of them will be paired down, probably either Alexandre Dinerchtein or Jun Sang-Youn. The remaining players in this group will be paired among themselves. Since this group also contains van Zeijst, Mero, Pop and Shikshin, that should give some interesting pairings :-)

Last round?
Does Van Zeijst still have some hypothetical chance? Catalin has now 1pt more than Alex but Alex lost to the koreans only.. The last round pairing will probably decide and we'll see SOS battle. Of course if Catalin wins he'll be the best! :-)

I think if van Zeijst wins, and both Dinerchtein and Taranu lose, then van Zeijst could still get it on SOS. He cannot beat Dinerchtein on SOS, I think, but Taranu is a viable target...

shame it did not work out
We had hoped that the comments section would draw some interesting discussions about the pairings. Predictions who would win, chat about the players, things like that. Instead, it is only people whining they do not get the results as fast as they want them. Really a shame, it could have been a real asset, but it didn't work out that way.

- Why do you think the organizers should direct the peoples interest ?! If people are interested in results, why don't you provide those faster ? What kind of problems are you facing ? Speak out and people might want to offer help. I don't understand all this talk down of "fast results updates", I honestly think it should not be that difficult to address, instead of constantly complaining about people complaining, etc ...
